Hi all,

I'm fairly interested in the Apple TV and I wondering if you all could answer a question for me. Is it possible to plug in the cable connection to the back of the ATV and have that as a choice in the menu? Or is cable a separate deal and not possible to have the ATV act as a cable box?

That's not possible (if you look, there's no cable input on the back of the Apple TV).

For now, the two are completely separate.

Ah, yes, I just went to look at the gallery on Apple's website. Thank you!

On another note, do you or anyone else reading know of some sort of cable converter that could be USB? Or maybe they are completely separate. :confused:

The USB ports on the back of the Apple TV are purely for diagnostic use by Apple; they serve no consumer purpose.

The only way to incorporate Apple TV with cable TV would be to use a tuner device with your mac (such as eyeTV) and then convert any recordings to iTunes format and transfer them into iTunes (which can all be handled automatically). ...Although, this is quite a pain.
