Is it safe to leave MacBook Pro awake at all times?

I'm wondering if it'll harm the MBP if I leave it awake during the day. I'd like to be able to access while I'm gone (using VNC clients and such), and I can't do this while it's in sleep mode. Anyone else do this?

Shouldn't be a problem, as long as it's on a flat surface with good ventilation. I would recommend sleeping the display, however.

It should be fine.

I leave my MBP on overnight with the screen off because time machine backups are scheduled at 3:00 a.m. and it's also my alarm clock.

Most alarm clock apps are capable of waking the machine from sleep. Backups are another thing though.

It won't harm the laptop at all. Just make sure its a flat surface (desk) and just sleep the display.
