Diablo II Quit Unexpectedly

I've installed Diablo 2 w/ LOD expansion pack onto my Mac OSX 10.5.4. I've already downloaded the latest LOD carbon patch from Blizzard. However, everytime I try to open the game I get the message "The application Diablo II quit unexpectedly."

Any suggestions?

The latest update being on 7/23/2008 stating that an upcoming patch would fix the issue.
