I have heard about a great many problems with the 2.1 software. I thought that it would be a good idea to house all of these questions in one thread. Maybe I'm wrong.

MY situation is that the 2.1 upgrade made the video from streamed and synced content jerky. The remote control was slow to respond to even simple commands like "up", etc.

I downgraded to 1.1 and now the remote works smooth as butter and the video isn't jerky or anything. What gives?

Mine seems less problematic on 2.1 but I still get the 'format not recognised' occasionally and it is absolutely annoying because it requires a restart that takes around two minutes and doesnt always fix the problem.

Niether of the ATV's we have in the house have had any issues at all in months.... I updated them both as soon as the new update was available and all has been 100% and let me tell you they get LOTS of use !!!

Only issue I have is the remote is not responsive at all - very sluggish. I'm really surprised Apple haven't released an update to sort this, since it seems a wide spread problem.

Apart from that, it works fine for me.

So your remote isn't sluggish either? Are you running synced or streaming content or both? Are you using HDMI? Component?

With 2.1, I have issues as it relates to selecting movies via remote app. If I switch fast between movies it seems to restart ATV, but it seems to be a half restart as it does not load the opening movie and just puts you back to where you were. Otherwise it has been pretty solid.

Note: Remote app is very responsive for me. HDMI, with streaming movies (but setup as synced to iTunes).
