i dont have an APP icon

i was looking at the manual online and it shows a Icon for APP STORE. i dont have it on mine, can anybody explain?

You need firmware 2.0 for the app store. You probably have 1.1.4/1.1.5.

Update by clicking update in itunes under your ipod. the update costs 10$.
