Hey all, I'm a newcomer here and I noticed the advertisements for up to $350 off new Macs. I was just wondering if these business are legit. I'm sure MacRumors wouldn't direct us to bogus retailers, but so many buying guides tell me, "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is". Does anyone have any experience buying from these sellers?

What is the website in question?

They are automatic Google ads, MR does not guarantee they are legit.

However, if a proven bad egg banner ad does keep popping up, they can be blocked.

Thanks. I just didn't know if they were MacRumors sponsored or whatever. Question answered.

If you're referring to Smalldog (which runs ads promising iMacs at "up to $390" off), the company is absolutely legitimate. The promised savings involve reductions on prior-generation computers.

Agreed! Smalldog is one of the most respected Apple retailers in existence. I didn't buy my iMac or my iBook from them, but everything else that I have Apple related is from them. They are 100% legit, and I strongly recommend purchasing from them!
