External Serial ATA on PowerMac G4?

I'd like to know this too, it seems a good idea to get an external SATA drive now, so that in the future when I have a new mac and then upgrade the internal drives I can put the old one in the external drive.
does that make sense?:confused:

I am sort of replying to my own post here....

I know Sonnet has a PCI SATA card. I just want to know if this is e.SATA compliant? No response yet from Sonnet- has anyone tried this-

If the Sonnet card is e.SATA compliant, I could use a product like this to give my Mac, external SATA connections:

The next step is easy- get SATA drives and enclosures, and I am up and running.

Not sure if it would work, but it would be nice to have SATA bandwidth for my video projects.

I cannot add any more hard drives inside my Mac, as I already have all four bays taken up.

when you get your new mac the external drive you bought now is pretty small for future specifications and who will know, do we still use sata by then?
