I wouldn't call Second Life an "RPG"... not in the classic sense, anyway.

yeah well it doesn't work without a cellphone anyway.
I found one called sociotown and its ok I guess but I'm more interested in a WoW type rpg not a life simulater but ether one would be great.

wow. games still use shockwave? wow. it seems so 90's...
lol
but yeah, i see that now.
most online games have moved to flash however.
or java in some cases.
my friend actually led me on to this game, runescape
(in an announcer like voice) conviently located at www.runescape.com
it uses java and actually isnt that bad.

wow. that sucks. alot of people give runescape a bad reputation. its not that bad. especially because it is free(ish). i actually forgot about it for a while, and have my beginner account that i am starting to use again.

There,s a few actually, game wise that run on the Mac. But theres also Second Life, and recently IMVU (http://www.imvu.com) just released a new Mac version, but those are just IM clients.

I second Kingdom of Loathing. I play that one, and have been playing it for over 5 years. :)

Second Life has a Mac version.
It does not require a cell phone.
It is not a RPG.
It is a social hangout site.
There are games within SL that claim to be RPGs but the last time I checked (several years ago) they were not worth bothering with.

Planeshift (http://www.planeshift.it/).
A gamer friend tried this and said it was a decent effort, but it's still in the alpha development stage so I'm curious just how much functionality it has.
