Gmail and mail.app sending problem

Hey, I searched and found numerous problems with gmail imap and mail.app, but not mine so I thought I'd see if anyone had advice.

I can't send mail from mail.app using a gmail address. It works fine with a mobileme address, but not gmail. It says unable to connect to the server smtp.gmail.com...

This question has been asked and answered too many times to count. It is common for ISPs to block access to SMTP servers. This is a security measure. You may try setting Gmail's SMTP to Port 567. If this does not work, then you will have to use your ISP's SMTP server rather than Gmail's.
