Will be compatible with the mac, and how good this ram?
Thanks In advance

I would, but they overcharge for the same ram you can buy some where else for a lesser price.

And pay 3 to 4 times more? I don't think so.
The crucial Ram you picked out is an excellent choice. I see they have it on sale at Newegg for $76, and free shipping.

Correction: Apple wants $400 for 4gb (2x2) of Ram. That is nuts. 5.26 times higher.

No.
Buying ram from apple is like throwing your money out on the window on the freeway.
OP: That ram should work.

You'll find answers to this and many other commonly asked questions under the Guides tab at the top of this page:

Apple charges more than double the price you would pay with other reputable RAM providers (for example, $200 for 4GB RAM.)
A great source for Mac-compatible RAM is OWC (http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/apple/memory/). Their MacBook and MacBook Pro 4GB upgrade kit (http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/53IM2DDR4GBK/) is $99 (£50). You can check their site for other configurations.
Another source is Crucial memory (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148201) from newegg.com (http://www.newegg.com/).
Installation for a Macbook (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1651) or a MacBook Pro (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1270) or iMac (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1432) is easy and does not void (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=13946) the Apple Warranty (http://images.apple.com/legal/warranty/docs/cpuwarranty.pdf) or the AppleCare Protection Plan (http://images.apple.com/legal/applecare/docs/AppleCare_Protect_Plan_NA_en.pdf), unless you damage something in the process.
If you have questions that these sources doesn't cover, you can check to see if it has been answered in another thread by doing a Google search of the forums (http://mroogle.edesignuk.com/). I hope this helps!

Thank You all for the answering my post.
Should I worry about the case latency, in this its 5? Or should go with one that is 4?

CAS Latency 4 RAM makes a tiny difference -- like 1% -- to real world performance. If you can get a $40 rebate on the Corsair CL4 RAM it's a fine choice, but it's not going to light a rocket under your computing compared to CL5 RAM.

whats the real difference in DDR2 667 and DDR2 800 speed memory for a MBP? Would it run the computer hotter then 667? would you even see much of a difference? Just wondering.

Yes, 800 would run a bit hotter.... and no, you'd not notice the difference, and I doubt the difference in overall system performance would be greater than 2-3%.

I bought a 4GB Kingston RAM kit from Newegg ($80), and it has been performing flawlessly on my 2.4 Penryn MBP. Highly recommended :D

Absolutely no difference in performance --- the MacBook Pro will run the RAM at 667 MHz regardless of the RAM's max speed rating. Your machine sets the speed, not the RAM.
DO NOT get 800 MHz RAM for the current MacBook Pros, there are many reports of the 800 MHz RAM not downclocking properly in Penryn MacBook Pros and failing to work.

If you picked this out using Crucial's own configurator, giving it the right options then
1) It will work
2) They'll guarantee the statement I just made in part 1.
I do this at work and at home all the time for laptops desktops and servers. Crucial are not the rock-bottom cheapest in the world but they make a decent product and they stand behind it if you do have a problem.

Oh brother. I forgot for a minute that the MBP doesn't even use 800 MHz RAM, lol.
What I said holds true for a system capable of 800 MHz DDR2.
For one capable of 667 MHz DDR2, the performance difference is 0.0%.

I would like to upgrade my memory too. I have a 2.5ghz MBP with 2 gigs of ram. I was wondering if I can just buy a 2 gig stick from crucial and put it in my mac. Will the lat 5 2 gig stick from crucial play nice with the 2 gig already in my computer? Thx.

I don't think newegg ships to europe yet. If it's memory you're looking for you can always try http://www.crucial.com/eu/index.aspx

The 1st thing I need though is a MBP ;)

Compare with DMS (http://www.datamem.com) and OWC (http://www.macsales.com)

What you have in your MBP is 2x1gb chips. To get to 4gb you will need to remove both chips and put in 2x2gb chips.

Now I see. When you purchase the MBP and upgrade to 4gb it is $200. If you go to the Apple Store and buy 2x2gb of Ram it is $400.

As has been posted many times:
Understanding Intel Mac RAM (http://guides.macrumors.com/Understanding_Intel_Mac_RAM)
Buying RAM (http://guides.macrumors.com/Buying_RAM)
Apple uses RAM they buy from Samsung, Hynix, Micron and Elpida just like the reputable third party RAM suppliers use.
There will be no performance difference between 2 brands of RAM that are tested and 100% compatible. (with the exception of the more expensive CAS Latency 4 RAM from OWC and Corsair, which gain about 1%)
OWC, DMS, Crucial and other RAM companies that support Macintosh are the best bet. NewEgg and Fry's and other discounters don't provide support and leave it up to you to choose the correct RAM. This can work for you if you know what you need and spot a sale, but watch for shipping and restocking charges if you get RAM that doesn't work.
