Hi all,

I just bought a new macbook about a week ago and googling found your site and forum. I've spent the last week trying to learn the basics, and think I've managed to pick up most important things.

Anyway, the main reason for me joining is to say thank you for the guide explaining how to install latex on a mac; I found it very useful. Apologies if this thread is in the wrong place: please feel free to move it to a more appropriate place (i.e. if you have a general discussion, or introduction forum).

Welcome to the Forum!
And to the Mac experience!

Do you mean LaTeX? (http://theappleblog.com/2006/10/05/latex-and-osx/)

Looks like MacTeX (http://www.tug.org/mactex/) is the all-in-one way to go

Yes, I do, I'm just too lazy to capitalise the letters! ;)

Thanks for the welcome, and for the links. I'm sure I'll find lots of useful info here.

Whew... for a moment I was afraid you wanted to paint your Mac ;)
(or something...*cough*... worse)

I am not familiar with LaTeX or MacTeX, but I'm sure somebody here is

You might try searching with MRoogle (http://mroogle.edesignuk.com/)
You may find something on this, or others things that come to mind

Welcome to the Forum and make yourself at home!

Welcome to MR and the Mac community and yes MacTex is the way to go.

You can install you favorite text editor and then do your thing.
