All, would I be correct in assuming that upgrading from firmware 1.1.4 to 2.0 would be at the expense of 3rd party apps that made the old iphone such fun? Apple certainly would like everyone to be locked into the approved (and not free anymore) apps available from the store. Or, are third party apps in the pipeline or being developed that rival or even surpass what is on offer at the store. Thanks

the upgrade to 2.0 enables the app store, enabling access to 3rd party apps
2.0 can be jailbroken in order to install further 3rd party apps not in the app store, such as summerboard, cydia and many more

Yes I know that 2.0 can be jailbroken and that cydia and installer are part of the pwnage package. What I am trying to predict is that surely 3rd party apps developers will continue to make their apps available freely or will they become part of Apple's apps store in order to generate revenue. Thanks
