For the past two years I carried a leather Road Wired MegaMedia Bag with an Incase sleeve. The problem was that the case weighed as much as the laptop itself. So now I use the Media bag only when I travel and use a Timbuk2 commute bag for work.

I just picked up a Crumpler Dreadful, but I also have a Puma Messenger with an Incase sleeve and a Chrome Metropolis. Great bags, but I'm now partial to the Crumpler since it's new and it has a built-in padded compartment for my MBP. I'm also going to order a Crumpler camera case that fits inside the Dreadful to carry a camera body, a couple of lenses, a flash and accessories.
The Dreadful has tons of room which basically means the bag will be heavy when filled. At least it has a non-slip shoulder pad for comfort.

This is what I use. It's great and seems to be holding up rather well (granted I don't use move my Mac around a whole lot).
My only qualm is that it's only got one latch in the front (the top folds over) so the corner lift up a bit when you're carrying it around.

The bonus is it has little Microsoft tags all over it! Fantastic! People will think it holds a PC and be less inclined to steal it ;)

This is the best bag I have ever owned, honestly. I looked at the Incase bag that's made almost identical to this one and couldn't justify the additional $40 to buy it. I love that the laptop compartment is soft and raised above the floor of the bag (extra shock absorption) And it's great for carrying your computer, a notebook, and small textbook, as well as some pens and such. It has a headphone eyelet to keep your ipod in the bag, but I usually just clip it to my belt.
As far as it's moisture repelling capabilities im not sure, I wasn't brave enough to test it. It doesn't advertise waterproof-ness though, so I don't think that's a feature. It is pretty thick however and would take awhile for moisture to soak through.
Another cool feature is the power brick zip bag it comes with. About the size of a pencil case, it zips and keeps your power cord all together and not snaking around inside the bag.

Probably the best backpack I've ever bought.
What Brand is that? I'm going to be buying a new Macbook Pro within the month, and I need a good backpack. It needs to protect my laptop, and have enough room for the power cord, a textbook (an 1800 page textbook ), and a binder. I'm also really hard on backpacks, so I need something that's really going to last. Someone told me to go with Mountain Equipment Co-op, but I'm also thinking just a normal backpack, and then a laptop sleeve. Any thoughts?

It's a North Face Surge Backpack. It's serious sturdy. My 17' MPB fits perfectly into the laptop compartment, and the main compartment and the front section will have more than enough room for things. I can fit all my cables, wired keyboard, mouse and a video camera in the main compartment with space for books in the front. It's got chest and waist straps so good for cycling with.

Hi, I really like the look of the northface surge backpack. Does anyone know if they are water resistant? I have had a look at a few online stores to see what the details are but none of them seem to mention it. It does tend to rain alot here in the UK and so I will need something that is rain proof!

Hi guys, I just recently bought a macbook pro (the old one) and was wondering if the incase sleeve is a good investment. I heard the old macbook pros dent easily, will the incase sleeve be good enough if I carry it in my backpack along with one or two books to protect it from potential dents? Thanks in advance! :D
