just bought an iphone 16gb on ebay, not 3g, and the guy sed it had been used on contract but hes now upgraded to 3g, so does this mean that if it were to mess up im covered by the warranty? also could i purchase applecare for it? or have i just made a big mistake:o

It all depends on when the iPhone was bought by the original owner. Normally, 12 months from the date of purchase you have the option to purchase AppleCare. If you've activated with AT&T, just call AppleCare Support and ask when the warranty runs out and if you can purchase AppleCare at this time.

if its unlocked (like most iPhones on ebay) your gonna want to make it normal again before trying to get the warranty extension

hasnt been unloecked i dont think, im in the uk so its 02, cnt seem to find anything on applecare for the uk iphone, is there any alternatives? any iphone insurers you cold recommend anyone?
