iPhone will not launch mail

when i open mail it shows a blank mail screen (with the compose and refresh buttons non-working at the bottom) and then quits to the home screen. I have tried restoring once but to no avail. as a side note i have jailbroken before but i restored to the original backup, so i assume that jailbreak means nothing now.

I think this is happening to me right now. I had also previously jailbreaked but when 2.0.2 was released I just used Restore in iTunes and I was up and running and even Mail was working.

I did notice though that after the restore my Carrier Banner was still customized. So today I did anothe Restore. Carrier Banner still does not say AT&T and NOW Mail won't launch.

So it happened to me after Restoring a second time. Shouldn't the Carrier banner reset back to AT&T too on a Restore>
