Is there a way to play games (specifically StarCraft) on a widescreen monitor without the 2 black stripes on the left and right sides.

Is there a way to make starcraft widescreen compatible?

SC only runs in 640x480 - blizzard has not released any patches for it to run in any other screen sizes.

I see...

Now I have another problem :(...

Starcraft froze! I've never had SC freeze... ever. In the 4 years I've played it.

Is this a problem with Panther? I haven't played another game, because that really discouraged me from playing another one, but my guess is that this will happen every game I played. It happened about 20 minutes into the game. Just froze, had to force quit.

Argh, so far my experiences with my Dad's new iMac have been..... buggy. :(

Im also using 10.3 but i have not had any problems with SC yet. SC has only frozen twice when i was using OS9.
What map were you playing on? I know some maps can freeze the game.
If it only happened once then i dont think its anything to get worried about..

Yeah Widescreen support for my iMac 800 17 inch would be nice...

Or resolution above the current one which looks like garbage...

I had 1 problem on SC for Mac... it was with some map... like my friend was playing some 'break the condom' game and during the middle it locked up and I had to reinstall...

But all good otherwise.

Execpt there is no hacks.

;)

How many year w/o a hack?

:p

I just wanted to comment that this discussion makes me smile. I love Starcraft, as it is one of my favorite games of all time, and I thnk it's great that a game that was released a long time ago (relatively, that is, in the computer world!), is still admired and played so often by so many people. It's one of those examples of a truly great game - a game that doesn't rely solely on graphics. Hell, when/if they make Starcraft 2, I could care less if they even update the graphics much! ;)

Classic game, and always will be in my books.

You guys have the OS X patch, right? Has there been a patch since then?
