Apple's shipping policy

Is it just me, or has Apple only charged your credit card fully in the past once the product has shipped. I have been billed the full amount for Ilife04, and the shipping info says it will be here on or before Jan 15.

It hasn't shown up on my CC statement. Usually they'll run the amount through first, to make sure that it is valid (known as a transaction date), then once it ships, they'll batch the CC #'s for payment (the post date). So, you aren't liable for the payment until Apple officially posts your account for payment. The funds are 'reserved' from your total credit available for a certain amount of time.
