Remote and Texas HoldEm should come standard, as they are Apple applications.

I'd adore to see someone come up with an emulator for iPod Touch. If someone could figure it out and I could play old NES and SNES games, the touch would be PERFECT! lol

what about an actual strip down verson of Mac OSX leopard?

mmm may be not :PiPhone OS is a heavily stripped down version of OS X.

A slim version of Mac OS X most likely won't happen.

Mac OS X is designed for Macs—desktops and notebooks—not anything smaller like handheld devices or mini-laptops. Even a slimmed version of it would have much higher hardware specs and display requirements/recommendations for it to be a viable choice for an iPod touch. Also, Mac OS X is not designed for a touchscreen so it would need to be even more modified for that purpose.

It could be stripped down enough to comfortably fit on an iPod touch, but then why bother? The iPhone OS already does that.

- More customization features for the home screen
- When an app is updated, keep it in its original position, instead of moving it to the end
- Make it easier to move apps from one page to another

Software? Put Settings that belong to an app. in the app.

Such as Music sound check, EQ, Volume limit, Book speed, right in the music app. Put closed captioning switch in the video app. Put slide timing, transitions, repeat and shuffle in the Photos app.

Or at least put a link to each app's setting in the app, with a return-to-app icon on each settings page.

All of the above please.

- When an app is updated, keep it in its original position, instead of moving it to the end
- Make it easier to move apps from one page to another

1. Would be nice.
2. Won't happen because the app gets uninstalled before it gets updated.
3. It's already easy how much more simple could it get.

...a program that will keep track of my financial transactions for my business....a small photography business. I need to be able to produce my own categories; to log purchases; to log profits and have the program add them all up and balance the 'books.' Anything like that out there now?

I am running 'Money' on my Palm and it works wonderfully. i would love an equivalent for the Touch. Have looked, but not found one.

I find the name of this thread interesting. ;) "... added to the software side." I never really thought of my Touch having a software side. I suppose that's the front where he screen is. Does that make the back the hardware side?

In retail, soft wares are usually clothing. Anyone dressing their Touch up in clothes? Hardware is anything you can buy at a hardware store. I've considered adding a couple of bolts for the Frankenstein Touch look.

Just me exploring the langauge. Nevermind. :D

I think there is no lack of features..it's just the stability and performance of those features that needs improvement on. I just hope they try to do that instead of adding "bells and whistles."

1. Somebody had a really great idea on these forums earlier. Something like hot corners. By double tapping a certain corner, you could paue/play, increase/decrease volume, and skip songs, even when it is locked.
2. Skype, but I doubt that'll ever happen.
3. Hrm, how about wireless syncing? Like what you can do with Linux.

Hi
Does anyone know how to get the BBC iPlayer or Channel 4 on demand player onto the iTouch so I can watch TV shows! Heard it was possible but have no idea how to do it!
