I am currently using a macbook pro, but need to upgrade. I would love to buy a mac pro, but its simply too much money. If I go with the highest end imac, can it handle final cut studio, photoshop and the works? I do advanced editing and the macbook pro just cant handle it anymore. Thanks.

don't know about recent Final Cut studio ... BUT i run final cut pro 5 and CS3 on my 24 inch imac with no noticeable slow down

and what do you mean can't handle it anymore?

I'm guessing its just taking too long for Rendering and Compression. Or the OP has an older MBP with the older x1600 video card, which might be a little slow for programs like Motion.

The Mac Pro was built for those tasks with their multiple processors and workstation video cards and the iMac has faster processors and better video cards too so im guessing this is the reason he wants a faster computer

To the OP: The iMac would be fine for final cut pro, but get the highest model processor if you want to squeeze the fastest speeds out of the computer. If not go on ebay and buy a Mac Pro, plenty of deals to be had on their.

Cheers.
