I recently bought a refirb iMac 3.06Ghz from the Apple store. Mine seems to be getting a little warm. I have seen as high as 191 F when using handbrake. (I had ISTAT pro preinstalled when I got it)
When I use handbrake for a while The CPU temp will frequently stay around the mid to upper 180sF. Fan speed will be around 1200-1500 at these temps.
Is that normal?

Oh - one more thing. I called Apple support and they had me do a PRAM reset to bring back the factory defaults.

Thats about 80c right?
Perfectly normal, mobile chips are designed to run at high temperatures, and especially when running something like handbrake.
The fan speed seems fine, I guess you could use SMC fan control if you wish to make the fan run faster making the chip cooler, although that will create more noise.

Yep perfectly normal.
The mobile Intel chips are designed to run at extremely hot temperatures.
I once was using handbrake, and accidentally covered up the vents, my Macbook hit 100c  and it still runs great.

The CPU might be designed to run hot but my concerns are with other components like 3.5" HDD and wireless next to the hot CPU.
