Ok, stupid me....I can NOT figure out how to delete a drop shadow that was applied in Illustrator (it is not a separate layer and of course when I open it up again...it just wants to add to the problem...LOL:D) Can any of you help me turn the dang thing off or remove?

Depends on whether you added it through the Effect or the Filter menu. If you added it as an Effect (which is what you should do), follow the directions above. If you added it as a Filter, select the object with the shadow and Ungroup (shift+command+G), then select the shadow itself and delete.

Try selecting the object that the drop shadow has been applied to, and take a look in the Appearance palette. You should be able to remove the shadow in there.

Wow! Great answer. Short and easy to follow. It fixed my problem instantly. Thank you for sharing!Ü
