Is there any way to adjust particular words in the auto-corrector on the iPhone's virtual keyboard? I'm aware that I can just press the little 'x' to dismiss the correction, but that messes with the pace of my typing. This is slightly irksome; it 'ruffles my feathers', if you will.

In particular, the phone replaces '****ing' with 'ducking' and 'yo' with 'to'. As I type both of those words regularly, it is quite aggravating having to go back with that lil' magnifying glass and change those d's to f's and t's with y's.

Anybody know a solution?

you have to "press the little 'x'".. it will stop correcting you if you dismiss the suggestion enough times.

How many times is 'enough times', because I am fairly certain I have dismissed those two particular words over 100 times each.

...well I've definitely used them more that 2 or 3 times. Does this method apply to the SMS function, because that's what I am talking about (though I assume y'all already knew that).

Yo is like its, it will always be corrected to you or to. Its is always corrected to it's. I don't know why, it shouldn't be like that.

I can type ****ing just fine. The first time it corrected to ducking, but I hit the x and retyped it and it worked fine. I typed ****ing ****ing ****ing over and over and it was accepted as a word that doesn't get corrected.

My suggestion is either stop using yo, or live with hitting x. You might be able to jailbreak and modify some file to fix the problem, and I will look into that now, but yeah. Yo is not a word.

Seriously, I use lol when things are pretty funny and LOL when things are ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS!

I wish they'd fix it.

Strange thing on my end is that I've tried to make it stop capitalizing the word **** and it continues to say ducking instead of ****ing even when i reject it.

Maybe I'll just keep trying.

Except that autocorrect is a great thing when you misspell a word. It's the little things like this that drive some people nuts.
