Pink is great!
Wait, no. I can't remember what I voted for, silver or blue.
Edit: Now I remember. I went with Silver 'cause the blue is kind of a powder blue. Had it been a deep blue I think it would have looked better.
I guess it's also worth noting that I think all the colors look like crap with a white scroll wheel.

silver. to match my silver laptop, phone and digital camera. They're not silver by choice either, they just came that way. But now if I got a product of any other colour it just wouldn't fit in!

I love the green and pink. Silver is too boring.

I think:
Silver = Boys
Pink = Girls
The bi colours will be blue and green.
Not really sure on the gold colour.
I could see a rapper with one.

I don't like the minis but anything green is good right? (with the exeption of overpriced alienware crap)

To me the green is the only one that's even remotely aesthetically pleasing.
Frankly, I think the whole series is an incredible design opportunity wasted. Especially the gold was a chance to do a glamorous, fun, retro-inspired thing (think sleek 60s golden Jaguars), but the way it is it just looks metallic dirt beige as if it could be a Nissan or Toyota color. Oh well.
Maybe Ive was on vacation while they did this one - it certainly has surprisingly little of his signature perfectionist minimalist cool.
I had secretly been hoping for square-shaped minis (with rounded corners like the iPod), in ultra-polished, shiny plastics in the strong pop art colors of the iPod ads.

I'd buy a pink one to go with my hat (http://homepage.mac.com/mac_15/ipodpink.jpg) , but if I wooke up and had any sense I'd by a silver one.

I thought the white scroll wheel looked odd being the only white. But the top and bottom are white too. I think they look great--especially the simplified controls.
I'll definitely consider a rev B in silver to match my AlBook! Unless the white iPods add future features I'll want to pay extra for. (HD space alone probably won't make be buy white--the slim mini has value to me if I want my contacts and calendar always in my pocket.)
PS how about black with a black wheel? They could always print an outline on the wheel so it was easy to spot.

I like blue. Actually I love blue. Favorite color and all.
The problem is the miniPod blue blows.
It blows, it sucks its like an overcharged shopvac with with dry hoses and an attitude problem. Same with the green color. It's just rank.
Pink is pink. I guess its a good pink if there is such a thing.
The silver is eh...
I picked the gold though I would like a better gold something less brown...

i think that silver or blue is the best. i would choose silver, but that's just me.
i want to see them in person before i judge them because it might be better than the pictures.

If I were to buy one, I would buy the silver. I just think silver looks nice, though my white iPod does too, and it compliments my iMac very well.

I would also have to go with silver, then blue. I think pink and gold would be my last to choices.

Live it up, people.
From the pictures silver looks so boring.
Embrace the metrosexual colors. :D

No...
I like my mono brow and hairy back. I like shorts and T-shirts.
I am a bit upset about the beer belly but mostly because it gets in the way.
I want it in MagLite Colors.
Or plaid.
Or bright hunter orange.

You have an interesting taste. "Glamorous and Retro-inspiring" "Ultra-polished, shiny plastics in the strong pop art colors of the iPod ads"? Can't you get more tackier than that? The iPod mini lacks "perfectionist minimalist cool"? It can't get more "minimalist" than it is.
People who actually saw and used it at MacWorld Expo think that the feel of the metal body was really nice and different from the iPod, and the pictures don't do any justice to the actual product. Well, you can do armchair-quarterbacking all you want, because you are not a designer.

I assume the silver is just the raw aluminum, a perfect match for PowerBooks.
It will be interesting to see what sells based on people actually seeing them in retail stores... as opposed to online forum posters :)

now the big question is...is the silver unpainted?? If so the lack of ability to chip makes it best..though i vote GREEEEN all the way, if its really that shade of green its one of my favorite colors....my powerbook sits on an aluminum and glass desk thats up against a wall that exact color :D

The popularity of the pink iPod mini is relative to that of the Strawberry iMac..

Personally, I find red a lot more attractive than pink... I think the really needed a deep blue and a red. Silver, dark blue, dark red.. those would be my favorites.

Funny thing:
German magazine MACup made a similar poll (http://www.macup.com/umfragen/index.php?dispid=23) (only difference, you could vote "none" too):
Pink won!
(Well, if you don't consider the 42% who voted for "none" ...)
So there's still hope left for pink!

I guess europeans aren't "afraid" of pink. :)
I think it's the best color too.
