Yes and it's only $99.99. I bought it, use it all the time and love it. Can't wait for the 2.1 update. The developer is adding a randomizer to the mix.

The worst is when you're demoing the iphone for someone and it just goes into michigan frog mode :D

Randomizer! YES! Finally! I've been waiting for that update... Sounds great - an improvement of an already great App!

It's the only App so far to receive permission from Apple to run in the back ground. So far it is doing a great job as a background App. Apple picked the right App to test the background running concept.

There's something about the humor of the people on MacRumors that I cannot grasp to save my life.... what do you all find so hilarious that causes you to discuss certain things that are not real as if they are in fact real? For example the existence of this app for $99.99? Not only can you not let a single outlandish idea die off, but you continually build upon it.

It's not funny by any means. What's the purpose?

Okay, personally, I did not find the $99.99 joke funny either... but I'm not going to bash the person that said it. That's just rude.

I've done no bashing, please don't try to put words in my mouth like so many other people here do. I'm simply asking a question because I see this a LOT and I seriously don't understand it

I only thought stevearm's reply to that question was hilarious. The idea for the app only made me smile a bit and the pricing just carried along with the notion that someone might have thought it was real.

Although, I am not sure how popular it will be as an add on, i.e. purchased app. After all, from what I read in different threads on MR. this apps comes pre installed. :p

This is, of course, not unique to Macrumors. In fact, you have just described some of the basic tenants of modern improvisational comedy. If everyone thought like you, there would be no Second City, no Groundlings, no SNL, no Bill Murray, Robin Williams, Mike Meyers, or myriad other brilliant comedians, whom you probably don't find funny either. Thankfully, not everyone thinks like you.

It doesn't happen just on here either, I am a professional photographer and always frequent the photography forums and the same thing happens there. Instead of Mac vs PC its usually Canon vs Nikon. There are always the mock up fake camera rumors, the latest one being the Canon 50D. You just have to go with it and have fun. And the funny thing is seeing how far off all the "experts" are when the actual product shipped. Almost sounds like the 3G information doesn't it?????

Most of those I don't find funny, no. However, for very different reasons. It's actually quite a different form of "humor" that those people/entities exhibit, which is not the same as what I'm seeing here

You're right, I also frequent several photography forums and even away from here, this sort of behavior is evident... it's always regarding rumors. For example, there's a well-known image of a Canon 1-series camera with a ton of "extra" buttons and features on it, which in and of itself I do find quite humorous, just as I found the image this thread is about humorous. However, what I do not understand are the people that take it multiple steps further and drag it out to the point that it is no longer funny.

There are different levels of humor. Some people never get above a certain ability to understand it. Is the problem genetic or environmental and can a good "hands on" preacher cure it?

Are people honestly that crazy and defensive over Apple that they can't find the OP's post and picture funny at all?

It's quite worrying that people can't see the sarcastic humour in this thread and that they seemingly want to defend Apple for the Crashphone 3G... :(

I'm assuming you're talking about me. Like I stated earlier, I did find the image funny. I even found the notion that someone said it was a $99.99 app somewhat humorous. However, I don't get the point in taking that several steps further and continuing to discuss it as if it's real. Obviously no one is going to be able (or even try) to explain that "humor", however, so it's now a moot point. Instead they'd rather try to pass it off as me having no sense of humor.

Very, very funny. Thanks for that.

Now please go away and create a real application that does this, and present it to Apple for their approval. I'd love to see it being approved for two days, like NetShare.

In all seriousness, a humorous jab at Apple, whether or not your phone works as it should :)
