Problems with App store?

Good Morning,
Finally purchased a refurb 32 gig iPod Touch last week. LOVE IT!!!!!!
Had acouple free games I got from the iTunes App store. They weren't working right so i deleted them. I've tried several times to reinstall them when i sync however nothing happens. Any ideas what to do?
I would appreciate any ideas you migh have.

Are your settings correct (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1977)?

Have you deleted the apps from iTunes and then re-downloaded (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1702)?

BTW, congrats on the new Touch :)
