headphone output not working on imac

i got the new imac 24 in....had it for awhile and the speakers worked perfectly but suddenly stopped working when i installed vmware fusion...i thought it was just my speakers so i plugged in my headphones and still dont work but when nothing is plugged in the built-in speakers work...is there something im missing or a set up i should do when i installed the vmware...help pleaseee :confused:

Check the volume. It probably was muted when the VM took control of it. Make sure the volume settings are up in the VM as well as the mac.
