How do you hold the iphone?

As dumb as this sounds, as anyone noticed a difference in 3G from the way you hold the phone?

Holding the iphone at the top, my 3G was faster (168 kB/s) vs holding the iphone from the bottom (23 kB/s). - speeds tested at testmyiphone.com

anyone?
 
With my hand, duh.😱

I usually grip the sides, but do not let it rest in my palm. It seems to get better reception if my hand isn't covering the back.
