quick help...formating hard drive...

im trying to figure out how to format my hard drive. i just installed my new hard drive so now i need to reformat it. how do i do this? i put the jaguar cd in then what?
i dont see a formate option on disk utility or anything.

alright i erased the partion.... is it ready now or what?

it says "select a destination disk to install the mac osx software" but there is no disk anywhere to select.... so this leads me to believe i havent formated the hard drive or something. im lost.

okay i got it guys. thanks coop. i didnt know formating the disk was erasing the disk.
