Prob a Stupid Question

I have a friend who was using word in classic mode and just upgaded to office v.x How can he change the default so when he clicks on a .doc it opens in the new version. it is still opening in old version.

OK

Go to one of the word files that you have

select it and press Cmd + I or just select Get Info from the File Menu

In the Get Info section choose "Opens with" select the new Word (X) and press change all

That should do the trick!
