iPod touch Max. number of apps on home screen?

I was wondering if there was a maximum number of apps you can have on the iPhone/iPod Touch's home screen. 😕

There are a total of 112 places for apps (12*9+4), but I believe about 12 or 13 are taken up (depending on iPhone or iPod touch) so that leaves you with 99 or 100 spots for apps.

I thought the home screen pages were endless.

what happens if you try to load more than that?

you can fill up to 9 pages. if you try more than that, it can't be operable. I mean the rest of apps you will try won't be installed.
