itunes says can not restore error 5

i guess i need winpwn 2.0 but i cant find that link is that the one i need?

put in DFU mode, and it should work

its in DFU mode all that shows on the ipod is a cable picture point up to the itunes picture.

thats restore mode, you need to get into DFU mode, software like ziphone (first one that comes to mind) have that provision
