"Washed-out" MacBook Screen

I have a 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo Black MacBook which is about 8 months old. The screen has been replaced once due to a line of dead pixels. Both the original and the replacement screen have seemed (what I can describe as) "washed-out." By that I mean that it seems as though the contrast (but not brightness) of the screen is not calibrated correctly. The colors displayed on the screen do not look very vibrant in comparison to the colors displayed on my 2 year old non-glossy MacBook Pro screen. The colors look whitish, not vibrant.

I have not tried to get the screen replaced again (yet) since I'm not sure that it will be covered. I'm just looking to get a sense of whether this is happening to other MacBook owners. Is there any why to adjust contrast via software?

Check your color settings, and you may need to calibrate.

Sys Pref > Displays > Color ...
