Has anyone else experienced an issue where you open up a file, a pdf for example, and the pages are blank?

Never...I upload and retrieve files from multiple PC's on a daily basis. Try deleting the app and replacing it on the iPhone. Also, make sure the entire file is transferred before exiting DataCase or closing the window you have opened to view the FTP.

Yeah, I've deleted the app and then reinstalled and it seems fine for a day or so and then the file vanishes again.
I'm able to see the file just fine for a day or so and then it just vanishes, so the file seems to be transferring over without issue.

Yep the OP is right....
I just went in to open a file that was in there for a little while and it loads a blank screen.
Definately a bug that needs to get fixed

I just visited the developers website....
Apparently this is a known issue...They recommend deleting the app and reinstalling to solve this issue. That's fine, I can live with that.
Get this though...if that doesn't work, they suggest restoring your phone and setting it up as a new device.....and if that doesn't work, they suggest to delete and downgrade your version of iTunes!
WTF???? Are they out of their minds? I'm not going to freakin restore my phone or downgrade iTunes in order to get their app to work!
Here is a suggestion DataCase.... Fix your own freakin App!

Just like ANY other iPhone app....they work for some, they don't work for others. It may or may not be an issue with DataCase itself, rather a firmware issue of your phone. What firmware you using?

I'm using 2.0.2, and there's nothing wrong with my phone. I have zero issues with the OS and pay attention now....all 71 of my other applications work just fine...they even survived firmware updates 2.0.1, and 2.0.2
If this wasn't a problem DataCase wouldn't be publishing those ridiculous work arounds.

I am paying attention. I am sorry you got the short end of the stick. Keep complaining...maybe someone will hear you.

Hopefully they will fix it...what firmware are you running? and I take from your original post that .pdf's, and .ppt's that have been uploaded for a while are still viewable on your phone?

Yeah, I'm resorting to using Mobile Finder now. I originally bought both to see which one was better and I liked the fact that DC mounted right up with Finder and did not need FTP to xfer files. I see MF has a recent update... at least they are addressing user requests.

I've been a huge fan of DataCase, but this bug, if not fixed, will kill the app for me.
I'm also disappointed that the developer's site faq (dated 8-14) said there'd be an update within a week to fix another issue, yet DataCase is still at 1.0 - I prefer to give the dev the benefit of the doubt, so I'll hold out for a while longer. :)

For me they didn't even aknowledge a future fix for "disappearing files". Instead they try and blame the firmware update and post workarounds that only a fool would do.

Oy. Do you find Mobile Finder stable when it comes to reading PDFs? I've been using DataCase for textbooks and general ebook reading.

My files disappeared from Datacase too. Their website says the issue is caused by upgrading the iPhone firmware. I uninstalled and reinstalled Datacase and it's working again, for now.

I'll let you know...I have to go back to work and retrieve my files that I had on my phone. Here is their latest update...I'm about to delete DC and sync this in.

Megatron stated that he did the same and after a while the files no longer loaded. Keep us posted on how reliable a delete and reinstall is for you as far as files remaining visible after a few days.
Of course you could always do what DataCase recommends, and restore your phone, set it up as a new device followed by reloading everything and restoring your bookmarks and passwords, not to mention your settings on other apps.....then if that doesn't work you could downgrade your version of iTunes, then go through the whole restore process again, because it's clearly not a DataCase issue even though your phone and all your other apps are working  (kidding)

I have this same problem, and it has led me to uninstall DataCase for now. I don't want to worry about whether my files will actually be viewable on the go. For the moment I am using MobileFinder... Too bad, I like MobileFinder's interface MUCH better, but I really want to see it show up in the OS X Finder automatically through Bonjour like DataCase does.
The first file manager that gets Bonjour-Finder support, abililty to add bookmarks/remember the last page in documents, word searching in docs, and reliability I will pay good money for, at least $20. OK, MobileFinder devs- get started :D

Agreed....
FWIW I did get Mobile Finder to work with Transmit instead of Cyberduck.

I pulled my Touch (or iTouch if that annoys you) out to show off how awesome it functions as a PDF reader only to have all of them open blank. Suffice it to say, I don't think I sold the people on DataCase. :o
