Video chat?..or am I crazy?

Before the iphone 3G came out i swear i saw a video or serious of photos suggesting that Video chat would be available. It was something to the affect of talking on the phone and seeing the other person on your screen in real time.

Is this not going to happen?

You are crazy all right. There is no front-facing camera on the iPhone 3G, so it's impossible, unless someone makes an even more crazy mirror setup to allow the back-facking camera to act as a front-facing one.

Well there were numerous rumors and lots of expectations for video chat to come with the 3G phone -- so much so, that there were tons of fake mockups that people created which were circulating everywhere pre-launch. So it's possible this is what you saw and what you're thinking of, so you're not necessarily crazy. Or you still could be, who knows? ;)
