hi, i was looking to buy angles and demons in the apple store for an audio book. what does unabridged mean?

basically I want to buy angles and demons and there is the regular version and the unabridged version which is 18 hours long vs the original of 6hrs.

is it safe to say that the non abridge version is more user friendly for audio?

please advise

...basically what am i getting if i buy each one?

'Unabridged' means that you are getting the complete text of the book rather than an 'abridged' version where some of it has been cut out to make the audiobook shorter.

Abridged (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/abridged) = truncated version of the book, sections of the story are cut out.

Unabridged (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/unabridged) = the full version of the book.

angles and demons

I think this might just be me being obtuse, but I've never heard of this book. Did it come out acutely, or has it been around for a long time? If there are sines that it will be a real hit, I would like to read it also.

You could have save all the typing and just typed one word: unabridged in Google or your Apple dictionary.

It is the prelude (00) to The Da Vinci Code (03).

Brilliant puns! Thanks for the smiles!

He was making puns based on the use of the word "Angles" instead of "Angels," not being serious ;)

I actually did not know that the same author wrote Da Vinci code, although of course I have heard of Angels & Demons....

You do have to admit, however, it is a remarkably poor advertisement for the virtues of listening to audio books over reading.... :p

I'm so accustomed to reading posts with poor spelling, bad grammar, no punctuation and overused SMS shorthand that the first time I read mkrishnan's post I did not catch the puns.

Thanks for pointing them out. A second reading of the post provided a much needed laugh. I will definitely read posts more critically in the future.

A shorter book.
