I have windows installed on my iMac via bootcamp and since the disc i used i dont have the serial code for XP is in trial mode saysing i have 3 days to activate, could i just buy the Windows Vista Upgrade disc to upgrade to vista and have a legit copy of windows? Or do i need XP to not be in Trial mode?

I don't think the trial will work. Why not buy an OEM version of Vista? It's about the same price as the upgrade.

Cause the upgrade is cheaper and i can get it at my walmart otherwise i have to drive 30min+ to go some where that has the full version.

It may work. I don't know if it requires an activated copy of Windows XP to install.

Risky chance if it doesn't

Didnt realize i could get it that cheap off the internet. I guess ill order that and play it safe. Whats the difference betweent he 32bit and 64bit?

There aren't that many drivers and programs that are 64-bit, just go for the 32.

Risky chance if it doesn't.

Well I expect it will say during the product check stage that Windows XP needs to be activated if that is a requirement.

I mean, you can actually use your Windows Vista upgrade media to upgrade itself, so... 😀

Yeah i only need windows to one program that isnt made for a mac and the company has no plans to make one! 😡

It means that instead of the license belonging to one user, it belongs to the machine, and it doesn't come with any manuals or fancy box. It's just a DVD and serial number.
