just got my imac but jus a few question regarding da 2disks

hi i jus got my mac it works n everything its great!. but the 2 two mac disks are they esstential to install? im installin the first one atm and its another hour or so till it downloads. i wouldnt mind the hour long download its just that i havent been able 2 play around on it
 
You really shouldn't have done anything with those disks. At all. They're restore disks for when you have a problem. Stop whatever is happening NOW.
 
Probably not, then. Just let it finish. Did you do an Erase and Install or one of the others? If you had put anything on your computer you can kiss it goodbye.
