Does Final Cut even use the GPU?

I'm curious because i know that the new ATi 3870 is awesome with core image apps. But i don't use motion or or any 3D apps. I primarily use Final Cut (express right now but soon going pro). will i even see much of a difference in speed when using final cut between different graphics cards?

Only Motion and Color leverage the gpu. Final Cut Pro nor Express do; they only use the cpu.
