If you are having the much documented Logic Board/Display problem on the iBook, it will not start up properly. I know from esperience. Send it in to Apple: even if they replace the Logic Board, your HD will remain intact.

Well, first of all, easy on the caps ;).

I think it's going to be tough to get any files off the iBook. The computer is essentially dead, so your only recourse is to take the HD out and put it in another machine. Probably not the answer you wanted to hear. I hope you get your iBook back soon.

I am copying everything to my powerbook right now. It let me in target mode this time.
