View Full Version : So, how do you know someone is "very" interested in you?

Can someone tell how you detect the tell-tale signs someone is interested in you (I mean in a intimate sense).
For example, does this seem she is interested in him:
He used to be her boss who hired her. (he is about 10 years younger than her)
He left the company for another opportunity.
He received the farewell party by all the staff (she was one of the organizers).
He received a nice and rather expensive gift (which can be used in the business setting) from her.
She invites him to a lunch at a high end hotel (and she stays at the same hotel for a night; she is staying there even though her home is about less than an hour by train/bus).

Very tough call, she could also just be networking/cementing a good relationship with a former boss.
Without clear body language hints, it's hard to say. In that situation, it's best to remain at arms length unless you are REALLY sure, because it could read as interest or just friendly networking.

Not necessarily; could be that the person just likes certain things about you.

ask her why she's staying at the hotel when her home is so close... if she's interested, she'll probably make it known with her answer.

No she is not interested in you. Just because a woman stays at a hotel, high end or not, and invites you to lunch doesn't mean she wants to be intimate with you. The gift, expensive gifts are also not a tell as to whether or not someone likes you. The party, she organized an office party to say bye to you? If this is a tell then I am currently very much interested in being intimate with about 30% of the people in my company.

A little tough to say, but most likely not (unless the hotel thing was a lot more weird/obvious then implied). Everything else seems like she's just grateful that he hired her and wants to maintain good rapport etc.

That's what I'd do.

Whoa! You slut!
I agree about that not being a sign. The only sign may be regarding that part about lunch, and having a room booked there, and even then, there may be a perfectly good explanation for it.

Well from a woman's point of view it sounds more like she's trying to get brownie point for future networking, references, etc............
Just my lousy opinion:D:D:D

You're thinking she rented the hotel room because she wants you to come upstairs with her afterwards.
:p
Maybe if she invited you for a late, late dinner and drinks.

Interesting read on this.
As to the OP's question, I think that it is for brownie points and networking.

You get to know that by talking with each other and picking up the signals…
Booking a hotel room after lunch may just means she doesn't want to drink and drive. ;)

Act normal, but set everything she says to 'bow chikka wow wow' music in your head - and if any of it sounds plausible, then rip your clothes off there and then.

Does she have kids? Annoying person back home? If so I guess she would like to have one night of luxury that the company is paying for, She does not want to get with you.

If I were that woman I would be very scared....there is no way you can infer intimacy from the data presented. If you are so inexperienced ask Mom...it could save embarrassment.
If you want the acid test ask her for the keys to her room...oh and raw steak is good for that eye;)

Reminds me of a girl that I once knew.
She had two speeds, lips only or tongue so far down you were gagging. :)

In reality, you were only dating Gene Simmons without any makeup.

I would say that, based on the info given, that she isn't "interested".
You never know, different people give different signs but I wouldn't think if she were interested she would send some stronger signals.

Nah, that just shows interest. ;)
Very interested is when you return from being in the field for a couple of weeks, and when you return home she wants you now -- before showering. :)
