Whatss up;) just saw an article on ircspy.com in which the future XBOX when released not only will be using IBM 64-bit chips (most likely an iteration of the PPC970), but at 65nanometers size running at 5Ghz.

TEAMXBOX says it has established that the Xbox 2 CPU will be built on a 65 nanometre chip process.

this is in 2005 not this year, but its good to see IBM making good process, as this could with little doubt filter into Apple desktops.

ps sorry couldn't post this on rumors forum. Moderators not trying to pull anything, can you possibly verify this if its any relation to the PPC 970? Thanks

If it was 65 nm - that would indicate the G6 most likely. And at 5 GHz, that's quite impressive. I wonder if it will be single or dual core?

I can just imagine would these would be be like in a Mac :D

Probably single. I don't think a small box like the xbox console would use a dual.
