Tell me what you think about if the new ipod touch will have a camera so it can still be up to date with the iphone.

What I think?

Personally, I doubt Apple will go that far with the Touch. Good chance for GPS. Medium chance for Bluetooth. Tiny chance for a camera. Huge chance for Apple to want another $10 or $20 from existing Touch owners. ;)

Yea that is probably right i was really hoping for GPS and a camera.

Camera is not likely. GPS and volume buttons are.

I would like to see it, but who knows what Steve has planned. I would also like to see bluetooth not only support A2DP, but also be able to connect to mobile phones for internet access and call forwarding, but this may be too close to an iPhone for Apple's liking.

I doubt GPS would be added. It would only work near WiFi, and if you're near WiFi, chances are you already know where you are.

GPS doesn't use WiFi for positioning.

Unless a third-party GPS app comes along that lets you preload the maps. Then all you need is the GPS signal.

i'd prefer the camera to a gps...i mean like, what if you see, say a ufo, or something out the the ordinary. You're not equipped with a digital camera/slr...but you have your ipod. might just be me..eh

I'd rather have a camera, I already have a GPS that I like.

That better not happen! How useless, as if our cell phones with cameras weren't enough.

Anyways, why must we start a new "2nd gen ipod touch is going to have "insert feature here" what do you think?" thread. There are like five threads on this on the main page alone, three of them are just alike, one is fake, and the other is the best one as it is a few pages long and actually has a good discussion.

probably not, but it might. We will just have to wait and see

Can the volume buttons on the iphone skip tracks, or is it only programmable to volume changing?

I doubt there is gonna be a camera on the second gen ipod touch. What im looking at seeing is GPS, possibly bluetooth, and most importantly, EXTERNAL SPEAKERS.:p

I would probably shell out another 400 dollars if it had a camera, GPS and bluetooth.

But that's just me.

a cam won´t make the touch thicker than the iPhone...i hope apple will put gps on the touch ;)

If I had to pick between a camera and GPS I would choose a camera.
I mean it's nice to have a camera on your phone, but the camera on the iPhone is amazing compared to the camera on most other phones.

I doubt GPS would be added. It would only work near WiFi, and if you're near WiFi, chances are you already know where you are.

I have said this numerous times before and I'm glad someone is thinking the same way I am.

And to the poster who replied to him, if GPS used only satellites/towers then I highly doubt Apple will add it in since it's something most companies have you pay for.

I've recorded MP3 in Audio Hi Jack Pro and tried to make 8 hours audio CD. I transfered from Audio Hi Jack to iTune play list and then Media Player in Toast. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you.

Some people really just don't get how GPS works, and what it used to be like (and still is like) without AGPS.

agreed

I think what might happen with september 9th is that a new touch will coe out with GPS, and in the 2.1 update it will include downloaded maps. With that you could then use the downloaded maps and gps like an iphone, or something like garmin would, just without the internet.

I'm not hundred percent sure on this, but this is all about rumors right :].

This would be pretty cool though

The iPT will come out with GPS, SPEAKER, MIC and CAMERA tomorrow.... oh, and BLUETOOTH.

When it does I will laugh, and laugh, and laugh, on here. Just laugh.

If not I will hide under my bed and cry.

I think that's exactly what they'll do, IF they come out with GPS.

And then it could update it whenever you want (just have an update button and you can download on your desktop/wifi)

Tomorrow's upgrades on iPT really depend on how Apple is orienting its business plan.

If they really make strides to eliminate lower priced product consuming by making the medium and higher stuff attractive they will place some goodies like GPS/Cam/Speakers/etc in the Touch. They really don;t have to add anything to the Touch tomorrow to make it attractive to the average buyer if it just lowers in price. They could also add features up the price range.

Honestly - be surprised if they add GPS. It isn't that useful a tool for the average iPodder to get. SPEAKER is far more necessary for hearing apps, especially games. CAMERA a maybe, since it helps make the device even more of a mobile platform for webbies.

It will be sad if nothing is added to the Touch, but over time all those iPhone features will migrate down to make the Touch desirable as other manufacturers compete with Apple.

haha soo true.. I think that it will have a camera because cameras are becoming standard everywhere. Even the cheapest cell phones have cameras on them.
