Yes... it has been posted here before.... But the info is irrelevant now because apple will replace the battery for 100.00.

I've never seen it. But the replaceable battery deal is still not that great...I think it should be @ 50.00
but whatever...
So how's ur G5 doing for you? :p

it would be nice if it was $50, but the battery itself costs over $50. Li-Ion batteries are not cheap alkalines. they last a lot longer too.

don't think the battery costs over 50, the battery is a very small one and for just a little over a 100 you can get a laptop battery (around 1 lb verses only an ounce or 2 for the ipod battery)

But this subject is moot because there are also reports of original 5GB still going full steam. So maybe they got a bad battery? Batteries really can't be tested for longevity.

If they last so long, why do people have to replace them already?

1. All batteries eventually wear out.
2. The iPod's battery lasts a heck of a lot long than a pair of double AA energizer or durecell batteries would.
