i only found one post about this program on these forums, so here goes:

this program-> http://www.manyetas.com/creed/midikeys_beta.html

start recording a track, goto Midikeys, and now your keyboard (you know, the one for typing) becomes a MIDI input! The rows AZ-> and 1Q-> become a keyboard so you get a couple octaves.

go forth, and good luck

definitely! the only bad thing is that there is no dynamic velocity sensing, but hey...it's free software that's a replacement for expensive hardware, y'know. ;)
