iMac, dual monitors, XP, and Boot Camp

(Just making sure before I pull the trigger on a deal I've been offered...)

If I buy an iMac, hook up a second monitor, and then boot up into XP via Boot Camp, can I configure my desktop to span both monitors?

I really don't see that working. I'm not an expert although I do have a dual monitor setup but all I know of dual monitors doing is strechting out the desktop to two display sources I've never heard of it displaying different OS on each monitor, you could get this effect with Parallels Desktop but it wouldn't be quite what you are describing, but still better that one monitor.

Be careful, as I can't get anything on an external monitor using my macbook and bootcamp. Same set up works fine in OSX though.
