My application Escape Pod (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=289940983&mt=8) went up today. It allows you to play a specific sounds while you're on a phone call to allow you to 'escape' from calls you on longer wish to be on (eg play the doorbell noise and say "I have to go, someone's at the door!". You can also record your own sounds.

Memengo Wallet (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=284950097&mt=8) - stores you passwords encrypted. Also has optional online sync, in case your phone is lost is just too far away from where you sit.

Have a few more applications on the way as well. Great idea for a thread.

I have one app on the store, and one still in dev.

Chalkboard (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=284946807&mt=8)
"Chalkboard is an unconventional, yet intuitive, "calculator." It allows you to describe equations the way you would with traditional paper and pencil. Only now, the number crunching is done for you, at the press of a button. "

"On the technical side, Chalkboard is designed to emulate the functionality of a programming language, while maintaining a syntax with the potential simplicity of a traditional calculator. "

Dogfight (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icPjyX4mEkw)
Dogfight is a combat flight simulator that is fully 3D, not only in that the objects are rendered in OpenGL, but the movement of the aircraft is fully 3D and natural. The accelerometer is used to control roll and pitch rotation, the touchscreen is used to control yaw rotation, breaking/accel and shooting.
I'll upload another video some time showing the shooting and the fire/smoke effects.

Thank you for all the help this community has offered me!

I just had a thought on this...call me paranoid but let's suppose for a second what we're doing on this forum is against the NDA (all the discussions that we are having). Now :apple: has a concrete way to link user accounts to apps, which they can ban.

I don't personally care, because I've found this forum incredibly helpful and will continue to support it....but I was just thinking about that this morning...

Actually, all they have to do is either ask arn for the IP addresses or the emails.

I convinced my wife and our two sons to start an iPhone software development company this summer. Ever since my son and I waited in line for the first iPhone, we've been hooked. None of us have any prior X-code programming experience, and so our apps are pretty basic. Our philosophy is to work on apps we enjoy and make them better over time.

• ColorTilt (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=285024916&mt=8) - $0.99 Art doodling program with unique tilt to select drawing color.
The only app that has paid the bills, due mainly to luck and placement on the "What's New" list. We started a web gallery (http://web.me.com/kaweems/Site/IMAK_Creations/Pages/ColorTilt_Gallery.html) of artwork created with ColorTilt.

• ColorTouch (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=288056402&mt=8) - $0.99 ColorTilt look-alike but with touch instead of tilt to select the drawing color for those frustrated by the tilt.

• Dotty Shapes (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=287927955&mt=8) - $0.99 Connect-the-dots program for learning shapes, numbers, and letters.

• Hold On! (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=284963359&mt=8) - FREE "Productivity App". Our most-reviewed app.
My oldest son gets credit for this one. We were on vacation when this hit the store and we loved reading all of the hilarious reviews.

• Serpents (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=284945941&mt=8) - $0.99 Tilt-controlled "Tron meets Snake" game.
This was our biggest disappointment. We worked really hard on this one and thought we had something unique, but even the drop to $0.99 did not spur sales. Time to learn OpenGL ES.

• Serpents Lite (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=288451378&mt=8) - FREE Lite version of Serpents.
Further disappointment. We can't even give the game away:(. Back to the drawing board.

I have the following two apps:

Auto Loan / Lease Calculator: Does exactly what it says. Nifty sliders for easily changing params of the loan calculation

iDiscount: Simple tool to figure out 1 discount and then also a second discount for people shopping. Ever see the sign take an additional % off. this tool does that for you.

BTW, how do I provide a link to these apps for you?

You don't have to break the (can't talk about it) to participate in this forum, all you have to do is not break the (can't talk about it). To be fair, this is actually quite hard and limiting, and I've had to step outside for a smoke every time I've started to post here, and have cancelled more posts than I've put through.

My own contribution to this thread is Call Now, the only "1 button dialer" that actually works right, and we've bought and examined them ALL. It was written back in March as an exercise in understanding what we could and couldn't get away with re. threading on the (device that can't be mentioned). We weren't originally going to release it, but when we saw what other people had come up with, we changed our minds.

Hiqup (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=290603657&mt=8) - $1.99
If you're familiar with Hi-Q or peg solitaire then the basics will be familiar to you but Hiqup takes this further by introducing pieces that can only move in certain ways, bombs, teleports, jumpers and blackholes to make it more of a puzzler as well. There are 47 levels including 7 tutorial levels and there's an additional 10 classic peg solitaire levels if you want to play the old classic. There are three different types of board in the main game - boards where you have to remove as many pieces as possible, boards where you have to land your pieces into special spaces on the board and lastly time boards, where you have to complete boards in a given time limit. You can earn gold, silver and bronze medals on all the boards and it stores your best times etc.

I know this game under the name of 'Achtung die Curve' (I think it's german for 'Watch out for the Corner!' or something like that..) I've played a PC version for litterly hours and hours on end on several hollidays with friends... It's a simple but very fun concept. I think what your version is missing is multiplayer. I'm not sure whether it will boost your sales when you include wifi-multiplayer, but you'd certainly get a few extra sales from me and my friends :)

Imangi (http://www.linktoapp.com/imangi) - $3.99

Hello everyone,

I'm the developer of the word puzzle Imangi. The ultimate goal of Imangi is to create the highest scoring arrangement of words possible on a 6x8 grid of letters. Using the iPhone's revolutionary Multi-Touch user interface, players can slide rows and columns of letters to form words. Words are formed across and down in crossword fashion and must appear in a standard dictionary. Many combinations of words are possible for each game.

We just released version 2.0 which also includes:

1) Speed Imangi
2) Daily Challenge
3) Friend Challenge
4) Online High Scores
5) Word lists for German, French, Italian, and Russian

Enjoy the game! As always, we appreciate any feedback!

My first app, Voyeur, was finally released! You can find it here: Voyeur for $0.99.

What does it do?

It's really a very simple app - start it up and it will play a nice slideshow of the most recent public images posted to Flickr. I like to run it at work while listening to music. If you see an image you find interesting, just touch the screen and you will get a menu where you can pause the show (and then run frantically down the hall to show someone the picture you found), save the picture to your library, visit the image's page on Flickr in Safari or E-Mail a link to the picture to someone in your contact list. I've taken great care to make it as solid as possible - I regularly run it for 8+ hours at a time. I know that's not something all that groundbreaking, but for my first Objective-C/Mac/iPhone app it was harder than you might think :)

I have some ideas for additional functionality that I would like to add in the future, but I really like how simple it is and hate to do anything to "clutter" it up. Anyway, enjoy!

My app: iNap (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=290401644&mt=8) - wake up on destination!

Ever wanted to get some sleep during a train ride, or a quick powernap on the bus to work? You either hoped to wake just in time not to miss your station, or set an alarm to wake you far too early... Let iNap wake you when you get close to your stop!

iNap is a 'next-generation' travel alarm. Using the GPS in your iPhone it will determine where you are, and wake you when you are close to your destination!

Thanks go out to the helpfull people on this forum. I've asked a lot of questions, and gotten even more answers!

iBinaryClock (http://linktoapp.com/ibinaryclock)

Me and my friend have started a small software company and this is the first app we came up with for the iPhone. It's just one of a small collection of $0.99 apps we are creating to build up some revenue to get our company going and fund artwork and sound for our upcoming planned games etc. We can both program well but unfortunately our drawing and composing skills don't leave much to be desired!

iBinaryClock is a customizable binary clock app with the main emphasis on looking cool and being easy to use. Its currently in version 1.0 but version 2.0 is coming soon and it is a LOT better.

For all the haters of app names prefixed with "i" out there (im hypocrytically one myself), we apoligize for this one. "Binary Clock" was already taken and its pretty hard to call a binary clock anything but a binary clock so we had to settle for "iBinaryClock" to even get it on the app store!

FIS Calculator is a very simple calculator used to add, subtract, multiply and divide dimensions, in feet, inches and sixteenths of an inch with minimal key strokes and targets anyone that uses a tape measure in designing or constructing all kinds of things.
Based on user feedback I am implementing the input of other fractions besides sixteenths in an upcoming version. Very handy if you use dimensions a lot.

Hey Rogue Vertex looks like a great game. More people just need to know about it. You should maybe release a demo video on youtube or something. And later maybe a lite or free version. Lite and free versions attract many since people search up "lite" or "free" on itunes.

My app is called Formulas - it does some calculations that are very common in high school math. It includes a triangle solver(enter 3 parts of a triangle and it will give you the other 3 parts), a regular polygon solver(give an shape property and a size property and it tells you area, perimeter, side length, etc.), a Greatest Common Factor calculator, and other solvers.

I'll just put them all to single post to save space :)

geneBlender (http://web.me.com/mike.mcfin/geneBlender/geneBlender.html)
Free form photo blending/compositing. It uses similar UI than in Minority Report to freely move, rotate, scale images. One finger for move/position and two fingers to rotate/scale simultaneously. You can overlay two or more images top of each other and then blend them together with your fingers by painting directly to alpha-channel of topmost image (like Photoshop layers and masks). This will reveal or hide areas you mask with your finger. You can also add some funny items from geneBlenders library to "decorate" the image and finally save it to "saved photos album".

iLCARS (http://web.me.com/mike.mcfin/iLCARS/iLCARS.html)
Doesn't need much of an explanation. Those who know what LCARS is get the idea :) It's pure novelty-gadget-gizmo with appropriate sounds and animations. Worth of few laughs with your friends. 3 scanning modes Subatomic Particles (may even found Higgs boson or microscopic blackhole), BIO-scan to check if there is any "brain activity" in subject ;) and GEO-scan for seismic activity. Uses accelerometer.

iFocus (http://web.me.com/mike.mcfin/iFocus/iFocus.html)
a VERY simple focus testing-game. Just click the numbers in ascending order before time runs out. What ever you do don't give this to your girlfriend or wife. For some reason it is HIGHLY addictive for females :D
Don't know why - maybe it's the simplicity? ;)

I just have one app up at the moment: JEsho (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=285766660&mt=8)

It's an offline Japanese English dictionary which uses the JMDict public dictionary file. It features searching by kana, romaji, and English. I think what makes mine different is that it tends to show more information on a single screenful because of the variable row heights.

It came out of about 2 weeks worth of learning the iPhone SDK.

I've since added features requested in the reviews, but sadly nobody's reviewed it since then. So if you happen to buy it, please write a review telling me what you think. :)

Can I put one still in dev up?

I'm working on the ultimate strategy management game. It doesn't have a map, it's not supposed to be a civ clone. All you ever see is a bunch of stats that you can manipulate that will affect each other. So you have taxes, food, various buildings, resources, etc. for instance. Don't be fooled by the uncomplicated looking main screen :D

It's a touchscreen take on the classic square tiles puzzle game. I have tried to pay real attention to the look & feel and towards keeping consistency with the iPhone aesthetic.

On the puzzle, you can use your own photos or one of the nice images I have included with the game.

I have done localizations in 16 languages.

I'd love to hear anyone's feedback if they are able to take a look.

If anyone here remembers the old Mac desk accessory (yeah, that old) QuickDex, my new app will feel a bit familiar. Promo blurb follows.

***

Dexy: The notes app for people who hate to file.

Designed for the iPhone and iPod Touch, Dexy is a free-form note organizer that allows you to type quick notes and easily find them again later.

Forget about naming files, creating folders, and filing notes. Instead, type a quick note and get on with your day. When you need to find a note later, search for any word in the note and Dexy will bring the note to you.

If you liked the old-school card file applications like QuickDEX for Macintosh and Cardfile for Windows, you’ll love Dexy.

Now available in the App Store (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=295913844&mt=8).

My Biggest app yet! The MeeMee Creator (itunes link) (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=297565812&mt=8).

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee303/noribites/P3.jpg

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee303/noribites/Picture1.png

The MeeMee creator lets you create funky cartoon versions of you or your friends, email them to your friends, enter them into competitions, even apply them as images to your contacts.

Here's the full feature list for those interested:
• Gives you a combined total of 10.000.000.000 unique combination possibilities (that's without counting the colour variations).
•Takes advantage of the unique iPhone/iPod Touch features such as swiping your finger across the screen to flick through backgrounds for your character, rotating the device to switch between Showcase mode and Workshop mode for editing or admiring your creation
• The MeeMee Character Creator is completely offline, meaning no expensive internet bills or 3G quota overloads.
• Allows you to take photos of your newly created MeeMee characters to your photos section and assign them as pictures in your iPhone contacts, save them as your personal iPhone background, email them to friends or send them to our website so other people can enjoy them.
• Regular planned 'update packs' with more parts, suggested or requested by users.

I've put a video (albeit not super quality) on www.meemeeapp.com (http://www.meemeeapp.com) :)

Comment, suggestions or similar are always welcome and appreciated as I'd like to make this as fun a program as possible!

Thanks for looking guys!

World Guide lets you browse information for countries around the world, either by region or in a full list (all content is stored offline). Includes basic facts like capital, currency, languages spoken, population, local power convention, and time zone. Has a general summary of the country, climate, transportation, local food and tipping customs, key phrases in the local language, details about destinations and places to go, tips about life in and travel to the area, and even a multi-touch zoomable flag and map for each location.

Also includes favorites, full text search, as well as a cool shake feature to pull up a random country...

Cheers, Colin.

RunningTotal has finally been released. It's a tool for keeping track of financial accounts, such as credit cards, debit cards, as legibly as possible, with a seriously heavy-duty built-in help system. We spent a lot of time on this app, and it's one of the more sophisticated apps out there, internally.

Jeremy,

Just noticed this thread, thanks to other recent posters! Great idea!

100sounds (http://www.100sounds.com)is my baby! We'll get around to more apps, but we've just been trying to make this one better and better. You get >> 100 sounds and due to popular demand, you can also get 100's of ringtones as well, individually or in zip files (< 5MB) by categories.

App reached #32 overall, and #7 in Entertainment!

BTW, Jeremy, I'm smoking you in your own program, iDice for the Mac... I own most of the high scores (but I'm not doing as well in the iPhone version, though I play it all the time!

Hi. I finished a pretty cool app called Personality Types (itms://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=314860226&mt=8&s=143441). The intellectual property came from one of my old professors from UCLA. He's done a lot of work with personality theory and psychological assessments.

The work is based somewhat off of the work of Carl Jung. It also has a little of the Myers and Briggs theory along with some Temperament theory, also.

The app is kind of like a mobile reference. You can look up your personality "Type" -- or other people's Types -- and find out what is supposed to influence, motivate, and appeal to someone with that personality.

Anyway, it's a cool little app and you should check it out if you have a chance.

Thanks.
