Elite Force 2 help

Hello, this is a question to anyone who played elite force 2... how the heck do we beat the bad ship when we are out side, using the manual phaser / quantom torpedo launcher? i have tried like 20 times with difficulty set to normal. I know we target the red things, but the quantoms usually always miss, and the phasers are useless...

You have to lead your shots :) It took me about 5 times to beat it, which is a very long time for me, but it is in fact beatable.

I know you have to lead them, but i find the fact that the thing fires three quantoms at a time makes it a lot harder, anyways i am going to try agian..
