You never want some Shure SE530 or similar ones then

LOL, indeed – or grado PS1s …

Seriously, Jim, $79 isn't much for a pair of headphones. It's way too much for THAT pair, but 79 dollars aren't expensive. In fact, I'd say that the headphones means the most to good audio, just like speakers in a stereo do, or a microphone do for a recorder.

Is the back so scratchy?I want to buy a Touch but know i have second thoughts...

If you are worried about scratches get a case, its a flaw with any iPod with a silver back. In fact, I think Engadget said they scratched one just by unboxing it! :D

Here is a pic of my first gen iPod back (which I got about a week after they came out).

i sold my "old" nano
i really wanted to get the touch but it still had the stupid metal back that scratches, so i got the nano.

thats why you guys fork out an extra $10-$15 for a case. They have some really good leather and even plastic cases. Any ipod should be placed in a case to avoided scratches.

Any ipod, will get the scratches even the new nanos. Just get a case and you wont get a scratch.

$79 for the new headphones? no thanks! That's WAY too much for a set of headphones.

I paied $125 for my Bose headphones. Reg. they are $140 but I got them on sale.

Some actully care about sound and build quality then some cheep $5 phones from walmart.

Thats what I said in my post! Read it!

I, however, dont care about scratches. As long as it works, and the front still looks good (which, as its very strong glass, it does) I have no problem.

When I get a touch, I'll probably get a non-permanent case. You know, one that I store it in, but take it out of when in use. I like the feel of holding a plain ol' caseless iPod touch.
