Hmm little chance that this new nano is going to work with the current Nike+iPod sports kit I'm guessing. Does anyone recall/know what happened with past iPod updates re Nike+? Eg: when the iPod Fatty came out, did Nike release a new kit? Or was it just some kind of firmware update. Any insight people have would be appreciated.

I bought an old nano last week in case, so that if it does work, I can take it back unopened to get a new one, and if it doesn't, I can keep the old one. Birthday present you see. Grr - people need better timed birthdays.

Yet more new ipods, I'm finding it hard to get excited.

Yeah, upgrading my old 20GB or 60GB iPods won't make the quality of the music any better, will it?

I know it won't make the artists I have on my current iPods any better at what they do.... I don't need an iPod update.... I NEED a new MBP !!! :D I guess I'll wait a little longer.:(

Nifty feature! Only problem I see is running will sound like a skipping CD without an option to toggle this off directly in the iPod Nano's menu system. :)

The fact that the iPhone Dev Centre hasn't gone down "for maintenance" together with the fact that there have been no betas seeded since Beta 4 with the reported removal of push notification from the SDK suggests to me that there will be no new iPhone / iPod touch firmware released tonight. Keep waiting. I'd blow a gasket if they did. Now with the phone being subsidized, I can't just simply upgrade any longer to a higher capacity model the way I did from my 8GB to 16GB original. I now sold that one and just bought a 16GB 3G a few weeks ago. :)

I still don't get why a lot of individuals are still going on about hopes of MacBook and MacBook Pro updates....at an iPod event. It's not going to happen people, seriously now. The updates for actual Mac laptops have their precious time during Macworld. THATS where you will see major updates to the Macintosh hardware, not now and here. I think most of us realise this... I'm not tuning in because I'm praying for a MacBook update. Of course, that would be amazing, but obviously highly unlikely. That doesn't mean there can't be a hint or two, just like at WWDC where they said there will be some "interesting things in the upcoming months." Things like that gets us who have been waiting months on end for updates some hope, so excuse us for sticking around. I'm personally still excited about iPods too, just not spaztastic crazy refreshing every second because its something I can wait on. Doesn't mean I'm not interested.

Why does the guy reporting on Engaget act like such an a**hole all the time. He's bashing Apple left and right on almost every comment.

agreed, got bored with him and am now just looking at the Gizmodo liveblog. it's great :)

I hope the touch has a shake to shuffle feature. The one thing holding me back from buying it is that I can't keep it in my pocket and change songs. Oh and the price too... does anyone think there's still a chance the price will be dropped? I assume he would have mentioned it..

Perhaps because he's just as bored with the event as we are.
