Unlocking 3G iPhone

I was gonna buy the iphone on contract and then unlock it and put my own sim in. I know ill have to pay 45 euro a month but its worth it. I was wondering, wat will I lose by unlocking it. Also, if I unlock it can I get the new firmware update?

you can't unlock the iphone 3g
you will need to buy a turbosim type hack, and theres no guarantee these will always work

also, why not buy it then cancel the contract and pay an early termination fee, or whatever your country uses as each is different

I've seen a few places that recommended this site, it can supposedly unlock a 3g iphone, has anyone tried it out?

For $14.99, you can unlock for VZ, & Sprint? Why would you want to do that? And, how can you do that? I'm holding on to my $14.99...🙄

If I'm not mistaken you cannot use the iphone with Verizon or Sprint (somebody correct me if i'm wrong). The iphone is a GSM device.
